My class had a wonderful time this afternoon decorating sugar cone
Christmas trees. To make them, you turn a sugar ice cream cone
upside down -- you can stick it in a blob of white icing to emulate
snow -- frost it with green icing, and decorate it with candy. They
are so cute. I hope this is a memory that will stick with my
students.

What a fun idea! I wonder if my grandkids would be interested in a project

Depending on age, I suspect so. Be sure to correctly compute the amount
of candy required to decorate with. Then double it. Half won't make it
past their mouths! Of course, that depends on age and amount of
supervision. Maybe double won't be enough. Trust me, you *don't* want
to run out of candy. Your grandkids will never trust you again!

Just for grins, I looked at Google images to see if there were any
photos. I found a few; I am sure the kidlets would enjoy doing it.

Those sugar cones also make great turrets for gingerbread (or graham
cracker) castles. ;-)
