Default Tuna fish and cheese....

My husband who has a definite lack of taste tells me it is OK to put a slice of
American cheese on tuna fish. I say cheese on tuna fish is only acceptable if
you then grill the thing making it a tuna melt. Does anyone here put cheese on
Tuna fish sandwiches?

Try garlic toast, your favorite tuna salad and melt Swiss cheese atop.

Grate cheddar and mix in with the tuna fish. Or. . .

Tuna Stuffed Baked Potatoes
Filling:
4 baking potatoes, baked
1 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1/4 chopped green pepper
1/4 cup chopped pimiento
1/4 cup chopped scallion
2(7-ounce) cans (solid pack white) tuna, drained
Topping:
1/4 cup Hellman's mayonnaise
2 tablespoons grated Cheddar cheese
1 egg white, stiffly beaten

Scoop baked potato from shells. Lightly toss with other filling
ingredients. Spoon back into shells. Heat 10 minutes at 400F. For
Topping: fold mayonnaise and cheese into egg white. Spoon over hot, stuffed
potatoes. Heat an additional 10 minutes, until lightly browned. Makes 4
servings.

A favorite little place in Dallas makes a wonderful tuna on whole grain with a
slice of delicious white cheddar. It was a happy surprise, but I now make it
that way at home.

I have found that if you shop for "white cheddar" you are more likely to come
up with a good "real" cheese,-- since even the
"good" yellow-colored cheeses can be suspect. Just my 2-cents.

I heard long ago that to differentiate between US and Canadian
Cheddar, the US' was colored yellow. In our local Kona COSTCO, one
can buy a "more premium" block of Tillamook white cheddar which has
apparently been aged longer. It is white and it is excellent and cost
a couple dollars more that the "normal yellow" cheddar.

I usually put a slice of American cheese on my tuna sandwich. I like it.
