Default Penzeys order just arrived

Aleppo pepper
Ground chipotle
Juniper berries
Almond extract
Ground anise seed
Lemon peel
Free sample of lemon pepper

Tonight I made a pound cake, using the almond extract and my new
Kitchenaid Professional 6 stand mixer (cobalt blue). I spaced out,
though, and thought "tube pan" specified in the recipe meant "loaf
pan." I realised my mistake when the batter blooped over the top of
the pan onto the bottom of the oven! I cleaned up the mess, trimmed
the edges of the cake, placed the LOAF pan (note to self) on a baking
sheet, and finished the cake. It turned out a little overdone, but
delicious nevertheless.

Here are a few ideas of how I want to use the spices: chipotle
mayonnaise for sandwiches; aleppo pepper for meats (kebabs?); juniper
berries in sauerkraut; almond, anise and lemon peel in baking.

The lemon pepper sample in my last order is an example of marketing that
works. I love the stuff! I've got it on my table next to the salt and
regular pepper and have been using it on meats and vegetables. Great
stuff. I intend to keep buying it in the future.

Why yes I did...My manners required that I share what I'd previously
enjoyed. Some smart guy told me once... A sorrow shared is halved ...a
pleasure shared is doubled. And I found out he was right, or maybe I heard
it on TV.

I've ordered from them twice, and always have gotten a sample with
the order. I haven't requested one though, and the reports in here
tend to show that everyone who ordered around the same time got
the same sample. A few weeks ago I got lemon pepper too. Before
that it was pasta seasoning, and before that chili powder.
