Default Long Beach restaurant recommendations?

An upcoming trip will take me to Long Beach, California. Are there any
places where I ought to make a point of eating?

We were there a few years ago at a conference and came upon a very
nice Spanish restaurant with very nice live guitar music.
Good food, good wine and sangria.

Can't remember the name, however.

And a Trader Joe's in Long Beach.

Just south of Long Beach is Huntington Beach - Buca di Beppo is an
Italian chain, but fun. Ask to get the *kitchen* table to watch the
action.

Buca? Oy! AFAIC, that's a place for a big group (try to get The
Pope's Table) where the food doesn't make much difference.

Bob, it may not be the best food you will ever eat, but the experience
of dining on the Queen Mary in Longbeach was very enjoyable. I had a
salad and it was good.
The real fun though is pretending you're dining with the Astors or
Lord and Lady Hoity Toity in the age of luxury cruising.

The kitchen table only seats two and it is literally in the kitchen.
It's a tad on the noisy side, but something ya need to do once. Their
veal parm is mahvalous.

Hard to believe someone is unabashedly recommending a dreaded *chain*
restaurant here. Have you no shame, woman???

I love cooking with wine.
Sometimes I even put it in the food.

Ain't it true? I find my tolerance for chains increasing incrementally
with the number of grandchildren.

It's Cafe Sevilla on Pine St. Lots of other restaurant choices in
that 2-3 block area (I like "L'Opera")
