3 jars, 5 bucks - OK I bit.

So what do I do with these instead of using it as a dip? I could make
nachos but I can't eat a lot of carbs. So far I can only think of just
pouring it over broccoli.

Mix it into pulled pork or chicken? Dunno. Never tried it, but the price
is attractive. I might buy it and fish for applications too. I bought
some canned salsa from Raley's the other day at a buck a 16 oz. can. I'm
eating it with Tostito's Scoopers and wish I'd bought more since it's
gone from the store. It isn't as good as nearly all jarred salsa, but
it's damned good for a buck.

It's good with eggs, tuna fish, and you can substitute leaf lettuce
leaves for taco shells to keep stuff low carb. ;-)

I'm betting tho' that that stuff is anything but low carb.
I'd have buyers remorse and take it back to the store!

Most jarred salsa isn't very good. This stuff isn't even THAT good?
You wish you'd bought more? Do you have ANY standards at all?

I'd be surprised if the sauce itself doesn't have a lot of carbs, but I
guess what I'd do is some kind of veggie casserole -- maybe
broccoli/onions/peppers, pour the cheese over, bake until bubbly?

Pour it over elbow macaroni or spaghetti and add some chicken and
sautéed onions and jalapeños?

Use it for part of the liquid to make stewed chicken and rice
(arroz con pollo.)

Hmmm ... 3 grams carbs per 31 gram serving. So that's 3 grams per 2
teaspoons. I can eat about 2 tablespoons per day.

This stuff will last a long time I can see that now.

Why did you buy 3? No grocery store ever makes you buy all 3 to get
the discount. You'd pay $.033 more for just 1 jar instead of buying
all 3.

One of the three grocery stores in our teaming metropolis does make
you buy the quantity to get the good price.

I have this thing called company on occasion. See that is when people who
like me come over to my home and I entertain them with food and beverages.
It is called socializing. I know that my "friends" as they are called will
enjoy some dip with their chips. And since it will outlive me in the
pantry, I figured ... what the hell.

Try it sometime.

Sure, I mean why not? Had some with my veggies tonight, not bad. Tangy,
creamy if somewhat inorganic.

Owie, the jalapenos would burn I would think.

Any vegetable you like cheese on can take the salsa con queso. Any other
food you like with cheese sauce can take the salsa con queso.

The unopened jars will keep at least until the use-by-date and then
some. Opened, it will keep in the fridge for a while, but not
indefinitely. No idea if it will freeze though.

Nice try, but no cigar. You wouldn't have asked if you could have
just served it to friends. You bought it and didn't

Heck, you didn't even thank people for their responses, you

I wonder how long "a while" is since I have a jar that's like two
months old. It looks as processed and pure as the day I opened it with
no visible (or noticeable funk) signs of problems. It was opened and
enjoyed once, then disappeared into the fridge for this long. I have
contacted Frito Lays about this. This post is the only place on the
interwebs I could find any post or site related to my question so I
figured I'd throw in my 2 cents. I will post what frito lay's informs
me of.
