Default Nocebo effect - "may contain nuts"

Interesting article in FT today, by Stuart Blackman on how health
warnings
make people ill. The concern is that the rapid rise in conditions such
as
back pain, fibromyalgia (chronic fatigue syndrome) and food allergies,
which are characterised by the symptoms expressed rather than the
underlying biology are in part caused by the plethora of heath warning
that
surround us, some of which are there due to fear of being sued.

"Less than 20% of teenagers who believe they have a food allergy test
positive"

Geez... Mike, I touched a nerve, obviously. You're the weakling of our race.

Not at all.

It's just that some of us don't know what "FT" stood for. You're vague, to
say the least.

Ever tried something like "what's the FT mike?" or Google "FT Nocebo"
rather than call me a liar? Thought not.

You could've avoided your entire mental break if you'd only provided a credit
and URL in the first place.

You really shouldn't fall for the troll's posts. He spends all day
posting them to many different groups.

sure, the correct response is to ask what it is or Google, isn't it?

He's a troll and he's best ignored. He's now reporting on another food
group that you called him a liar and that he was told to "**** off".
The truth is the only obscenities were from him when he called you a
"******" and a "****". Please don't feed him.
