Interesting article in FT today, by Stuart Blackman on how health
warnings make people ill. The concern is that the rapid rise in conditions such as back pain, fibromyalgia (chronic fatigue syndrome) and food allergies, which are characterised by the symptoms expressed rather than the underlying biology are in part caused by the plethora of heath warning that surround us, some of which are there due to fear of being sued. "Less than 20% of teenagers who believe they have a food allergy test positive" -- Mike |
