[I accidentally posted this to rec.fun.condoms earlier by mistake]
We seem to have a glut of morons lately. I don't claim to be a Usenet expert except on odd-numbered days, but I can't really tell what the latest influx of morons all have in common (other than the usual no-lives). We have all sorts of trolls that love crossposting, people telling us all sorts of brain-deadening odds and ends, and some really bottom of the barrel questions and comebacks. And all the Dimitris and Littleshoes that love encouraging them. Has anybody figured out a pattern to any of this, other than RFC loves to invite trolls, and that certain people are the first to respond to it? Imagine what will happen when Peter returns (I assume my filters aren't *that* good - he is gone, isn't he?). I'm pretty sure that day will mark the end of RFC as we knew it. ObFood: Stouffers Stromboli ($2.39). Don't bother. I love Stouffers, but this didn't make the grade. -sw |

Maybe a few people in CA are still celebrating, but nobody in CA gives a shit about trolling Usenet. -sw |

I know people in college and in high school who are on spring break now. And lots of teachers are. |

The local university break was last week, public school break is this week and catlick schools will take their break next week. That's the way it is here. Other states and districts (obviously) have other schedules. ![]() -- I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food. |

Many years back, parents were very frustrated around here, because their kids had different calendars. Maybe the high school kid watched their sibling on some vacation days when the parents had to work. Well, if the high school kid was in school and the younger sibling wasn't, that didn't work. Family vacations were a problem when the kids had winter or spring vacations at different times. So the county stepped in, got all the districts together, and they agreed on a single calendar. But the individual districts still sometimes changed their calendars, even though they had agreed. The county had penalties, but they weren't significant. Of course, the parents got all angry, but there wasn't much to do except direct them to complain to the school board who approved a change to the calendar that had already been agreed to. So, no, it's not the same everywhere in the world, in the US, in California, or within the counties in California. -- Dan Abel Petaluma, California USA "[Don't] assume that someone is "broken" just because they behave in ways you don't like or don't understand." --Miche |
