Default Chickweed

Today my lawn was serviced and once again they tell me I have a lot of
chickweed. I guess it's too late now to harvest it since it's been
poisoned, but my google search for this abundant weed showed lots of results
for adding it to salads, and the high vitamin C content. Have any of you
harvested any weeds to eat, and were they good?

My only experience is with dandelion greens. When they're very young and
small, they're good in a wilted salad with a bacon dressing. When they're
more mature they can be cooked oike turnip or mustard greens. They have a
slightly bitter edge, but not at all unpleasant.

I've eaten purslane. It's not very good, but it's not bad and it's very
nutritious.

There really isn't any different between a weed and a plant. PLants
are cultivated, and weeds are plants growing in unwanted places. I
gave garlic and oregano that has turned to weeds.

True, but I've never seen chickweed or even dandelion in my produce section.

I liked purslane, but I haven't seen it for several years. It's got a bit of
a lemony sourness to it.

I've nibbled on some from my vegetable garden. Didn't think much of
it. Often only young weeds are good to eat. A day or two later it
becomes tough.

I've tried it a few times from a few different sources. I do
like various bitter greens, but these were a bit too bitter
for my tastes.

I've seen both at Hole Foods. Granted,m they're kinda weird.
Dandelion greens are more common.
