![]() I made this cookie recipe early this afternoon and it's simply delicious! It's an old family favorite... ["Lace curtains" is a slang term that some of us "queens of a certain age" use for the word "foreskin". As in: "Mary, I blew the cutest Mexican kid last night and he had 'lace curtains' that almost drooped to the ground!" :-) ] LACE CURTAIN COOKIES 1 c. flour 1 c. chopped nuts 1/2 c. corn syrup 1/2 c. shortening 1/3 c. brown sugar Blend flour and nuts and set aside. Bring corn syrup, shortening and sugar to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and gradually stir in flour and nuts. Drop by level teaspoonfuls on lightly greased baking sheet about 3 inches apart. Bake in 375 degree oven for 5 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before removing from baking sheet. Makes about 3 dozen. </> |
