Your tinned beans aren't in a sauce; it's the starch they give off plus
the salt and water in which they were cooked. Drain them, rinse them and
make a dish with them.

Exactly. That's not a sauce, it's more like an exudate. Bean slime.
It's not poisonous but it's nothing I'd consume deliberately. Dump 'em
out in a colander and give them a good rinse.

Very posh word that is...'exudate' But correct. Even if the tinned
ones weren't slimy, they are usually horribly salty for our tastes so
need a rinse in any event.
