Hey, well, you have gotten in plenty of quips and worse over the
years, so I find this a bit funny coming from you. You have been
on relatively good behavior recently though. :-)

I, for one, love NGs and would hate to see their predicted demise
come about. Therefore, I will try to post on topic next year.

The nature of news groups includes thread drift. Accounts of the impending
demise of Usenet are highly exaggerated.

The predicted and imagined impending demise of Usenet is only upsetting
those who have no other life than here. All other life will proceed at a
normal rate. The Usenet obsessed will flood psychiatrist offices and bring
the country out of the recession. People who actually do cook and don't
spend more time on computers rather than cooking will not be affected.

The demise of usenet will come not from within. It will come because
of ISPs dropping it and the advent of online forums that are easier
for the uninitiated to find.

As usual you're spewing garbage. The demise in quality is largely
because of google idiots. As ISP's drop usenet or binaries serious
users will just have to pay for it or resort to google. For once I
agree with cyberloon as usenet isn't going away any time soon.

HOLY CRAP, a moderated newsgroup would be like Catholic school. Raise your
hand for everything, and by the time you got permission to go to the
bathroom, all you needed was toilet paper.

We had a few nut cases in rec.nude, so a moderated group formed. The
group died because nobody was interested. Everyone continued to post to
rec.nude. I still read the group, but I do not post very often.

I've always stuck mostly to cooking with a few tagents here and
there. But even my quips (and worse) are all cooking related - aor
at least start out that way. You won't see me arguing Rogaine or

RFC is like a sewer
What you get out of it depends on what you put into it.

Or

Take what you need and leave the rest.

i must be something of a voyeur at heart, because i love it when people
reveal their true natures while not intending to. in this forum, you can
laugh at them without appearing rude (assuming you don't respond).

I am definitely a voyeur at heart. Problem is, I don't always love it when
people reveal their true natures, whether they intend to or not.

Okay, folks, Steve's *already*won the tin foil hat on this one but here is
the poll question:

Who would you rather be:

- Steve the Spinster Grounch

- Andy the L'il Happy - Go - Lucky Leprechaun

[Vote EARLY...and vote OFTEN...!!!]

What was your favorite drink over the holidays?

I decided to quit drinking alcohol all together a few weeks ago, so mine
