Did anyone turn on FTV early this morning? They have a holiday food
show from 8AM to 9AM with lots of FTV star contributors. Tyler
Florence made a rib roast. I should have paid better attention.

I went to the FTV website (absolutely hate that redesign - give me
back the month at a glance) to find the recipe... I found one called
Horseradish and Garlic Prime Rib, but it's not the same as what I saw
on TV. On the show, his rub had fresh rosemary. Any ideas where else
to look?

I can replicate what I remember, but I think it's a disservice to show
one recipe and print another.

TIA

Is it this one?

It's not attached to a holiday episode though but it is a Tyler Florence
recipe.

Did you notice that when you search for a recipe, you can narrow your
choice by chef?

Food TV. You can be sure it will repeat a dozen more times in the next
couple of weeks. Love that DVR!

Thanks, but that's not it either. It was more similar to the one
posted.

Yes, but you could always search by chef.

I prefer the old month at a glance layout, so I can select which day
to search.

Thanks!

Oh, well. Maybe it will show up eventually. I liked the old site better
too. I liked the "what's on now" feature.

You're such a guy! Thanks for the reminder that the show is bound to
repeat. I honestly forgot about that part. Cable has so many
channels, I don't watch a repeat of anything.

As far as recording a show - I rarely remember what that red button is
there for and hardly ever use it. I am trying to use it more often...
but then I have to remember I've recorded a certain show and watch it.

OK, I'm practically hopeless!

I would suggest rec.food.cooking, as I've seen it here in the last week.
I believe it was a large thread.

It's still there, in the left column just under "On TV".

Have you figured out how to reset your time zone? They lost my
setting with the change.

Oddly enough, that post still hasn't made it to my server Nancy! This
is the only one I see.

Would you mind repeating the information? Thanks.

This was a couple of weeks ago. I guess.

go to foodnetwork.com and scroll down. On the right side
you will eventually see View Full Schedule, click on that.

You'll see Sun Mon Tues ... above that you'll see a
range of dates in a box. Right now it says Dec 14, 2008 -
Dec 20, 2008. Click on the box and the month shows up.
Choose your date.

AHA! I'd already found that page, by going to
http://www.foodnetwork.com/shows/index.html and selecting Weekly TV
Schedule, but didn't think to click on the camera icon. I see I can
also change my time zone on that page, but it's not permanent.

Thanks a million!

Thanks. I usually stop reading long threads after a while and filter
them out when they get too long and no one has split off the
subthreads.

>I believe it was a large thread.

Frankly, I have no idea how to use their advanced search now. It's
pruned down to practically nothing. I entered my search criteria, but
only came up with my own post.

I didnt see it.
But I agree the web site change truly sucks I used to be able to FIND
what I saw on TV....now, it takes forever and sometimes I cant find what
Im looking for at all.

Also, when thry changed the site, somehow it made my ENTIRE "Recipe
Box", fifty recipes I had saved---vanish.

I was fit to be tied.

Now, to ensure that cant happen again, whenever I use the web site, I
CC&P the recipe and email it to myself.

That was probably the 20th rerun of that show, or so....use Martha's
recipe for prime rib 101 - it's perfect. I think it's a travesty to
use a rub on any good quality rib roast. Rosemary is for lamb,
anyway. ;-) Happy eating.

I don't know how to do searches on the forte newsserver. Searches on my
newsserver work pretty well, but the retention isn't great.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. I remembered Tyler Florence, and tenderloin,
but it was Beef Wellington, not prime rib.

Sorry.
