I was having dinner with my boss and his wife and she said to me, "How

many potatoes would you like Peter?". I said "Ooh, I'll just have one

please". She said "It's OK, you don't have to be polite" "Alright" I

said "I'll just have one then, you stupid cow".

And if anyone wants to know about Kili's spirit, one of the photo
captions said it all to me.

"Tumor's back, but I'm trying to be as happy, brave, and as healthy as I

Yep, it truly says it all about Christy.

Kili's pic and messages certainly personalises her plight.
I for one and sorry for being an arsehole in my posts attached to her
topics.

As the most cynical person here (who, me?), I actually believe you
and thank you for realizing this is a unfortunate time for this kind
of trolling.

Just tone it down a little bit, please?

I don't see any pictures (except for the one pic that is part of her
original site -- lovely smile). All I see is the text and the words
"(insert pic here)" where every picture should be, so I don't know why
Christy's have been stripped from the message. I do see pictures in another
friends CaringBridge site. Does anyone know what settings I may need to
change (and how to do it)? And did anyone else have this problem? I can
see from the messages that at least some of you can view the pics.

Thanks,
MaryL

Hi Mary! There is a link for photos, and there is one current photo
there along with older ones. Michael said there is a limit to photos on
that site and Christy and Allan have that used with previous photos.
They may upload others later, but I think the one that is there now
tells the story pretty well.

I wish her comfort and a speedy recovery.

Ah! I just looked again, and saw the words "see all photos" at the very
top. That solved the problem.

Christy is a beautiful young woman, inside and out. I have a friend who is
going through similar trauma (not the same form, but she has developed
several varieties of cancer over the last few years -- one seems to go into
remission but soon leads to another). Like Christy, she is a wonderful
person who somehow finds good humor as she deals with the adversity that has
been dealt to her. These are very special people.

Made me angry.

We complain endlessly over here about what we consider to be abysmal
health care but we'd *never* turn anyone away who was in such need...
nor make them trawl from hospital to hospital to seek out care for
themselves!

Even without medical insurance people *are* treated well by the
medical services in Oz.

Thanks, Lin. I noticed the link for photos a few minutes after I posted my
first message.

I also wish her comfort and a speedy recovery, but I fear she is facing
still more pain. She is a beautiful and remarkable young woman who has
endured so much and still have such an uplifting spirit.

Oh, man. The last one really got to me.

BTW: the previous picture of kili in rfc mugshots (with the starfish
held up next to her face) was my absolute favorite shot of her. It
was a whimsical photo that epitomized her online personality.

I need to check out the rfc site. It is just a shame that the
kili threads degenerated into such rancor.

There's no accounting for the mental inadequacies of some grubs who feel
the need to hijack a thread like that, to suit their own pathetic egos, and
agendas.

All we can do is totally ignore the grubs.

The same thing happened when Pastorio was dying. <sigh>

Maybe realistic and sensible as in if you fall down you get up and keep
going. Those are typically the folks that are the survivors.

I can get no other pages except main kili page. All links to guestbook,
photos, etc, resolve to:

User is not authorized to access action /photoMainView
You don't have permission to access /cb/photoMainView.do on this server.

OK, I'll register, but where. I see no place to register. The closest I
can find is the author sign in page, which does resolve ok, but still no
registration link, only a password request, which I don't have. What's up?

The links at the top of the page work for me. The other ones don't.

Once I noticed the link to click for pictures, I was able to view everything
on the page (pictures, journal, and messages). I did not need to register.
There is a link to subscribe to updates, but that isn't necessary for those
who simply check back from time to time. I haven't seen the message you
mentioned about registering, so I can't help with that. I have not even
seen an author sign-in page, so that may be where the problem is. This is
the URL I used:
http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kilikini

That happened to me a few days ago. I shut everything down and brought
it back up. Same thing. I shut it down and went to bed. Worked fine
the next day.

You shouldn't need to register; what browser are you using? If Firefox,
are you running NoScript or some other extension that prohibits
Javascripts from running?

My Mother was having the same problem. Just refresh the page when you get
the error message. I told her to hit F5 and it worked for her.

I tried all suggestions, including rebooting seamonkey (netscape), turning
off noscript, and refreshing. No go. No biggie. I know what kili and TFM
look like and am sure I will be update somehow. Thnx to all.

That's a bugger :-/

Anyways, the latest update from TFM is..........

Her levels on everything remain about the same. Her blood pressure is a
bit higher (into the normal range) but that's because the doctor has
reintroduced the norepeniphrine at what he calls a miniscule amount of 1
mcg per minute.

That doctor told me she is doing better. He told me, 'She just needs to
wake up now.'

Then I talked to another doctor. He just needed consent to insert yet
another, larger line into one of her main arteries in order to start
dialysis tomorrow.

Then I talked to the third doctor. He said that her kidneys are holding
on, but just barely. The dialysis is not a cure by any means, but it
will help the situation temporarily.
The third doctor was very grave in his assessment. He said, 'You do
realize just how sick she is, don't you?'

Then I talked to the nurse. She told me they'd had to increase her
sedation from 20 mcg/min to 30 mcg/min.
I asked her why they were increasing the sedation when the head doctor
had told me she just needs to wake up.

No definitive answers from her.

Most recently I received a call from a nurse needing consent to insert
the line for dialysis as there is a risk of bleeding and/or infection.

I informed her that I'd already given my consent. It was required again
with 2 nurses on the line as witnesses

changed it.

Apparently, there is a limit of 12 pictures allowed on the site. One had
to be deleted in order to add the picture of her in the hospital.

I pictured him foaming at the mouth... I had to killfile him. It was
really bad.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant the rfc mugshot.

At least he would have had some kind of an excuse. There was no excuse at
all for what happened in this recent thread. Boneheaded and insensitive
come to mind.

If you or your loved one are terminally ill, you have a free pass to
go off the rails every now and then. For some people it's just a
hobby.

Oh, I thought you meant the pictures on Caringbridge. Take a look there
and see if your favorite is among them. You can download it.

How so? I remember that he would argue with Dr. Goofball (can't remember
his name), but I considered Bob Pastorio to be a very knowledgeable person
when it came to food! He and I both posted to the Foodwine mailing list.
When Bob died (on April Fool's Day) I felt like I'd lost a friend.

That would be the "Christian Cardiologist" going by the alleged name and
credentials of Andrew Chung, M.D., Ph.D.

God, NO! You said his name! Let's all hope he doesn't notice.
