Default Dinner tonight

I have some leftover steak and an acorn squash. I'm trying squash
again hoping that's not what caused my hives a few weeks ago.

In order to round out the meal I made some pasta puttanesca, my
favorite sauce.
Got all the goodies together.

While the pasta was cooking I started the sauce.
Heat up the olive oil and add some garlic and then the tomatoes.

Add the anchovies. After the tab to the can breaks and you need to get
out your trusty Leatherman to open it.

Then the capers, oregano and red pepper flakes go in.

The olives are added at the last minute.
Plated with shavings of Parmesan cheese.

Sirloin steak and squash. I haven't started itching yet.

I make a pizza variant with those same Puttanesca ingredients...as
suggested in American Pie. I didn't add anchovies though...I forgot
those!!

You are making me hungry!!

Wow, that sauce would be terrific on a pizza. Thanks for the great
idea.

Well, as I make it, I spread the basic crushed tomato sauce on the
pizza. Then I put on sliced garlic, black olives, and the rest of the
Puttanesca ingredients. Then Parmesan, along with dried oregano, and
a sprinkling of olive oil. It turns out well.

Might make one tonight, in fact!!
