![]() Wasn't it P.T Barnum that said there is a sucker born every minute. After I made my latest purchase that's how I felt. Story is on my blah, blah, blog. I got to thinking that if it wasn't for people like me some people would go out of business. Well...I got to use my new found goodie today and I love it. I used the ULU (OO-Loo) I love the straight up and down chopping motion and it sure made quick work of dicing up onions, celery and pickles for my potato salad. It's of good quality and is not flimsy at all. I'm a happy camper and can't wait to chop, slice, and dice some more. http://i35.tinypic.com/9as58z.jpg koko There is no love more sincere than the love of food George Bernard Shaw www.kokoscorner.typepad.com updated 9/06 |

Or maybe half a mezzaluna. It's usually used with a shallow round wooden bowl. You can chop all day and not have to chase stuff across a counter. Round bowl, round knife blade = more efficient. I like it, although, IMHO, it's a PITA to store. Mine has a wood stand-- a block of wood with a slit in it to hold it, blade into the slit. One more thing on my already-crappy-cluttered counter. But I like its cutting action--I usually use it in a rocking motion rather than up and down chopping. -- -Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ http://web.mac.com/barbschaller, and here's the link to my appearance on "A Prairie Home Companion," <http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/ programs/2008/08/30/> |

It was a "must-buy" when I want to Alaska with an RV caravan in 1997. It sat around for years before I gave it away. A year later, a friend gave me one as a gift. It's somewhere in the kitchen. I had an ULU when I was in Alaska that a gentleman from my husband's work brought it to me as a gift when they came over for dinner. I *loved* that thing. Alas, when our storage was broken into after we moved back here, it was stolen along with countless other things I loved.
