The same applies to potatoes tho' I seldom peel them uncooked except to make oven fries and I quite often buy peeled small carrots for nibbling or salads. -- James Silverton Potomac, Maryland Email, with obvious alterations: not.jim.silverton.at.verizon.not |

The same general type of survey focused on apples would be interesting too. -- I never worry about diets. The only carrots that interest me are the number of carats in a diamond. Mae West |

Yeah, I usually buy the small carrots, too, unless I'm making stock. For the stock, I just scrub the long carrots and leave the peels on. I'm just going to strain them out anyway. kili |

Ah, I didn't think about the 'already peeled' carrots. Sorry. In mitigation - I don't buy them myself - altho' they are available here too. BTW, one of the frozen veggies I find lacking here are baby carrots. They look good, but taste like nothing, IMHO. -- Cheers Chatty Cathy Egg tastes better when it's not on your face... |

If we were talking about potatoes my answer would be different. I hold potatoes in my hand and peel them pole to pole towards my wrist. Y peeler. nancy |
