I'm reminded of a late 80's (?) rock 'n' roll song...

Andy
Well, heck, stroke me too! Women need only apply. Sorry guys!

It had never occurred to me to do otherwise than one way and I see the
majority seems to agree. The same applies to potatoes tho' I seldom peel
them uncooked except to make oven fries and I quite often buy peeled
small carrots for nibbling or salads.

I answered wrong.... shoot. I used to use a peeler, but use the back
of a knife these days.

The same general type of survey focused on apples would be interesting
too.

I never worry about diets. The only carrots that interest me are the number of carats in a diamond.

Yeah, I usually buy the small carrots, too, unless I'm making stock. For
the stock, I just scrub the long carrots and leave the peels on. I'm just
going to strain them out anyway.

Ah, I didn't think about the 'already peeled' carrots. Sorry. In
mitigation - I don't buy them myself - altho' they are available here
too.

BTW, one of the frozen veggies I find lacking here are baby carrots.
They look good, but taste like nothing, IMHO.

If we were talking about potatoes my answer would be different.
I hold potatoes in my hand and peel them pole to pole towards
my wrist. Y peeler.

I suppose if you want to remove the skin with as little as possible of
the carrot itself, a razor might work but carrots are much cheaper than
your fingers :-)
