Default Yes, It's That Time Again !!!

Name That Kitchen Gadget:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320244079610

I think it may be a type of boiled ham mold,
to make a pattern in the surface imitating
the depresions that would be made if it
were tied with string.

But there is no spring action for squeezing
the meat. And the inner surface of the mold
is mostly flat, except for the slots, so it
wouldn't make good impressions on the surface.

I've also considered that it might be for
draining curd in cheesemaking.

I think the overall shape is the key to
identifying this object. What is bigger
one one end than the other? Ham, yes.
Provolone, yes.

Maybe for poaching pears? Or perhaps it's something to do with
avocados? Otherwise, I have no clue.

It's 10 inches long. If you've got a pear or
avocado that big, I'm more interested in the
fruit than the gadget.

Oooops <G>. Now that would be a pear indeed. Perhaps a pear wrapped in
pastry? Heliphino

What evidence is there that it *is* a kitchen gadget?

Put stuffing into it, close and shove it into a turkey.
When done, the stuffing , flavored from the bird, is now easily remove
from the bird.

That's the first sensible explanation yet.
Is that a guess, or do you really know?

One problem is that the gadget would get
pretty hot when the turkey is roasted.
I suppose a string could be threaded
through it, and then it could be removed
from the bird just by pulling on the string.

With a length of window sash chain tied on one end and filled with
clumping cat litter it would make a fine reusasble tampon for
cyberooze.

I have seen similar objects, use for that purpose. So essentialy this
was a guess.
