This is happened more than once. I go into a fast food restaurant and
the bill is 4.98 for a combo meal. You can hardly get a sandwich 5 bucks anymore. The thugs behind the counter are conveniently charging that so they can pocket a 5 without ringing it up.. |

While I rarely eat at fast food joints I've never ever encountered someone behind the counter who didn't ring up the order and give me a receipt with my change. Jill |

Why on *earth* would you bother about something like that, fer cryin' out loud...??? -- Best Greg Because theft like that drives up the prices for everyone. Fast food may not cost much compared to a meal at a "real" restaurant but someone has to pay for the ingredients. That would be the patrons of said establishment. It's no different from shoplifting or a customer walking out on a restaurant check. If more people reported incidents like this rather than turn a blind eye the perpetrators would possibly be arrested and charged, even if the charge was minor. They most certainly would be fired, and rightly so. I'd have either waited a minute to see if I could locate the manager to report the person on the spot (with a follow-up to the company in case the pimply geek manager was in cahoots). Failing that, I'd call the employee on it on the spot, loudly and in front of the other customers, and watch them try to bluster their way out of it ![]() Jill |

And not only that, it makes the customer into a partner in the crime. It's not just choosing not to report seeing the cashier steal. It's more like helping the cashier steal. --Lia |
