When I was a kid I really hated lima beans. Suddenly, and recently, I'm
finding that I'm really loving lima beans. Most of the time I buy baby limas, cooked simply and seasoned with a bit of butter, salt and pepper. I've also made succotash with fresh corn kernals, a tad of cream, a pinch of thyme. I know I can put them in soups and stews, but I'm looking for recipes where the limas are the dominant ingredient. I also like the fordhook limas. Any reasonable suggestions for other uses/preparations? I really don't need to know how many of you hate them. :-) TIA -- Wayne Boatwright ******************************************* Date: Monday, 01(I)/07(VII)/08(MMVIII) ******************************************* Human speech is like a cracked kettle on which we tap out crude rhythms for bears to dance to, while we long to make music that will melt stars. ******************************************* |
