It seems most people would rather watch that kind of thing as they are eating their McDonald's takeout meal. A BigMac tastes better that way. The true gourmets of the audience get Outback "take-away" meals instead... they're a higher class of people! ;-) -- wff_ng_7 (at) verizon (dot) net |

Actually aside from a very minor tense problem (teachES - easily attributable to a typo ommission) the poster's English is quite intelligible, and the question quite valid. In fact it's your sentence that's not well constructed and not very intelligible nor is your question intelligent or valid. Sheldon |

Personally, I can get google groups at work.... and they are not as interesting as they are when I'm at home using Agent as a news reader. I can't stand the Google interface, so I use it when I'm either waiting to be picked up from work or replying (at home) to a thread I've deleted all previous posts to. That's where the "look at Britney's Boobs!" stuff is coming from, among other things. I have some nice boobs right in front of me if I care to look at boobs. How many subject lines does it take to make a killfile? Britney? Boobs? It's the new AOL. The new WebTV. So much easier for now to get rid of gmail.com, then wait until school is back in and let it go again. Jill |

Actually, as far as Usenet is concerned, Google Groups is the new AOL -- partly because when AOL dumped Usenet they advised their subscribers to move to Google Groups. I say "partly" because surely not all the Google Gropers came from AOL. -- Blinky RLU 297263 Killing all posts from Google Groups The Usenet Improvement Project: http://blinkynet.net/comp/uip5.html |

It's the myriad of kiddies who have discovered @gmail.com addresses that are creating lots of the ignorant cross-postings regarding race, sexuality and just plain idiotic posts akin the lines of the old "Anyone have any recipes from Europe?" So, if I go to google groups to look up a deleted thread (like the artichoke heart one) and post from there, I am not only using my gmail return address - I am posting from google groups, which means you've effectively blocked me. I'm sure I'm not the only regular who posts from google groups on occasion. I read rfc daily, but I'm still not understanding why anyone would find it necessary to block an entire domain. I didn't participate in all the chest beating when AOL and WebTV were unleashed on the masses either. There was a learning curve for some, but mostly the ones who tried to be jerks left due to being ignored. This group has so much legitimate traffic they get lost in the crowd.... unless someone hyper-focuses on them. Frankly, I hadn't even noticed anything until you complained. When I see a subject line that's remotely teenybopper titillating, I delete it unread. It's easy enough to do in one keystroke. -- See return address to reply by email |

I'll resinstate the domain after things settle down. I did the same thing with AOL and WebTV for a while.
