Because they'd rather make cooking shows that are meant for entertaining.
They're more profitable. It seems most people would rather watch that kind of
thing as they are eating their McDonald's takeout meal. A BigMac tastes better
that way. The true gourmets of the audience get Outback "take-away" meals
instead... they're a higher class of people! ;-)
