Unfortunately I dropped it and then couldn't find a replacement. I just did a check and found one (by Oxo) at Bed Bath and Beyond that looks like it is what we both might want: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/prod...1&SKU=13818355 I'll have to visit my local store and check it out... Bed Bath and Beyond is always sending me discount coupons... don't leave home without them! ;-) -- wff_ng_7 (at) verizon (dot) net |

The description of the timer says the following: - Not recommended for use in dishwasher - Not recommended for use in microwave Talk about instructions for dummies! ;-) -- wff_ng_7 (at) verizon (dot) net |

It looks like it has that red rubbery stuff around the outside. I hate Oxo utensils because of that. I really do not like the feel of that rubbery stuff. I don't know about anyone else, but I've never had a problem with things slipping out of my hands while I'm cooking so I don't see a need for non-slip grips. So, 100 hours duration, eh? Let's see, what do I make that takes 100 hours. Most of the stuff I make only *seems* to take 100 hours. ;-) I think the longest I've ever set my timer for is about 6 hours. The time I smoked a turkey for T-day I put it on at 3am and went back to be and just set my alarm clock to get up and check it at 6am. It was a total of about 12 hours as I recall, but I had to check every couple of hours so I never set the time for more than 3 hours at a time. Anyway, thanks for the info. Bed Bath and > Beyond is always sending me discount coupons... don't leave home without > them! ;-) You inspired me to search. I foung a Taylor 10-key digital timer on Amazon.com for $6.99, eligible for free shipping with a $25 order, which I think I would be able to do as there are a few things I need that I could buy from Amazon. And it has a magnet for sticking on fridge. I don't need anything else on my counters. I have little enough room as it is. Or, I could just train myself to use the microwave timer. Once I used to doing it, it wouldn't be any more difficult that using the digital timer. It's just that for over 20 years I had a microwave that only had a manual time setting knob. I bought that thing back in the old days and it was the cheapest one I could find. No fancy digital timer and special settings. I've only had the current one for about a year and just forget that is has a timer. Maybe all this talk about timers will help me to remember the microwave from now on.
