The article did imply that there's already a shortage of beef, salad
vegetables, etc., grown in the UK.

Anything imported to fill any gaps will be expensive. Much as it is now,
I'm guessing.

It's not going to hurt Whole Foods to test the waters in England by opening
a store there. Maybe just a scaled down offering of goods compared to the
U.S. stores, rendering it somewhat plain with the attractive facade and the
highest prices the UK market will bear.

Imho,

The article said:

"At more than 80,000 sq ft, it will be the largest food store in
the city centre" Hardly scaled down.

That 80,000 sq. ft. includes parking? How many floors?

The Whole Foods nearby, in Devon, PA is *maybe* 20,000 sq. ft. and "maybe"
60 parking spaces.

It's so cramped in some aisles, it's practically single-file shopping.

It's still an experience. Women get all dolled up to go shopping there!
Gotta love it!!!

It's a converted department store in Kensington. No separate parking
lot. Don't know how many floors. WF is putting in an 86,400 sf store
in south San Jose (CA). For the time being, it will be their biggest
store.
