Default Bain-marie in a an electric oven.

Gas was never wired ( plumbed? ) into my home. It was supposed to be a
place that uses electric ovens.

Occasionally I am tempted to cook something using a bain maire, but is
it safe in an electric oven?

I'm unsure why you'd have any qualms. Go for it.

Indeed... I've used double boilers on my electric stove on more than one
occasion.

Sure. Why wouldn't they be? I don't think it would be a good
idea to be slopping a lot of water around in a gas stove either.

I have never had a gas oven, just electric. I use a Bain-marie all of
the time. Never have had any problems.

Dude, it's not like the water and electrical connection mix....what's
the problem?
