Default use by date still valid for frozen food?

Hi

I have bought a tray of (unfrozen) chicken fillets but did not pay
attention to the use by date. unfortunately it is in a couple of days
and i can't even consume 1/4 of it by then. there no indication on the
tray label if the fillets can be frozen or no

just asking if i freeze the fillets, can i still consume them after the
use by date?

manys thankss
