use by date still valid for frozen food?
Hi
I have bought a tray of (unfrozen) chicken fillets but did not pay attention to the use by date. unfortunately it is in a couple of days and i can't even consume 1/4 of it by then. there no indication on the tray label if the fillets can be frozen or no just asking if i freeze the fillets, can i still consume them after the use by date? manys thankss |

Otherwise, there'd be no point in freezing them. Put one or two fillets in individual small plastic bags, or plastic wrap. Put them on a baking sheet, and press flat. Put the baking sheet in the freezer, and the next day, put all the little packages into a ziplock bag. Why flat? When you're ready to defrost them, lay them on the thickest aluminum pan you have. Because you froze them flat, they'll make more surface contact with the aluminum and defrost much faster. |

His affair with a younger woman (which nobody has ever done before) distracted the whole country from 100% of everything, including freshness dates on food. |
