Tonight we had the remains of the Mulligatawny soup. It was still
just as awesomely good. Later around halftime, we'll have some jumbo
shrimp cocktail. I cooked and shelled and cleaned them yesterday, so
they are all ready for game time.... (which has just begun).

I don't much care for football since I never learned the scoring
method or the rules. Hubby however, is glued to the TV and rooting
for the Giants, the one NY team playing. He's really a Jets fan, but
they lost and dropped out a couple of weeks ago.

I have my own sorry Jets fan here. We joke about having a "mixed
marriage" as he's a Jets fan and I'm a Giants fan. Thank goodness we
both love the Yankees or we'd be living in hell for six months a year
when baseball is on. Wait....I'm not so sure baseball season is exactly
"heaven"

I don't follow any of the teams and I am definitely not into any of
the various kinds of ball games. I suppose that by posting on
newsgroups I am into banter or bs... whichever you might want to call
it! :-)

We are exhausted. Apparently every ill mannered person in South county is
in Walmart today! At first I was happy when I saw lots of produce. But
then we noticed some things that expired on the 15th of Jan. At least we
were able to get most of what we needed. Went to Albertsons to get the
rest. Still didn't get it all so will have to try the Albertsons near the
dance studio for the rest. Was actually amazed at how much we were able to
get. The last time we bought food after a snowstorm, there was precious
little to be had.

We had lunch at Taco Time. Angela is having a gluten free kid's meal.
There isn't a lot of food in it so no doubt she will want something else
later. I bought a tiny pizza with a lot of different cheeses on it. Will
probably not have anything else since I'm not very hungry.

I don't even know when the football was on or if it was on yet. I try to do
my best to avoid it. I grew up in a house where we didn't watch it at all.
I knew nothing about it. This led to them getting angry with me when I was
in high school. I was the team mascot. Actually there were more than one
of us. Several of us wanted to do it so we took turns. The problem? I had
no clue when to cheer. I had to stand down with the cheerleaders. They
told me just to stand there and do what I was told.

I'd be willing to try and learn, but my husband gets so involved with
the game, getting him to explain anything is nearly impossible, not to
mention getting an answer to a question. I am turned off by the
sheer violence of the game itself. Every year there are kids that
die and are crippled by football. Seems a terrible waste to me to
get a concussion or become a cripple due to a ball game!

That's my feeling about it too. I very much dislike that aspect.
