Dad is 87 and diabetic. But he loves hard candy. Does anyone have any
recipes for making sugarless hard candy? Thanks! Phil |

I could be wrong. And even if you did make it, the carb count would likely be no lower. You can buy sugarless hard candy but IMO it has a horrible mouth feel. And the carb count is no better than the real stuff. If I want hard candy, I just put a piece in my mouth, suck on it for a few seconds then spit it out. |

Phil is searching for a recipe for sugar free hard candy to make for his 87
year old dad...... Phil I have not found any recipes but may I suggest checking out the "Sugar Free" section in your local supermarket's candy aisle in the grocery section of the store. I have been surprised with the variety of Sugar Free versions of Life Savers, Russell Strover's and now Braches brands of individually wrapped hard candies; often sweetened with Splenda. These are a welcome relief for those of us who have more than one sweet tooth and especially this time of the year as the air dries and leaves us with a parched throat. Our local Wal-Mart have the best variety and lowest prices that we found. Hope this helps. Fran .... just someone else in Ohio. |

Some of them cause stomach problems, and some are just as carby as the sugared ones, so be careful with the quantity. :-) Cheri > |
