KitchenAid Oil/Grease answer
my KitchenAid mixer repair: http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com...iaster2005.htm > What i dont get is why are they using a oil with the consistency of auto > oil > in a the gears when they should be using some sort of thicker material. > > The rule goes that if it has gears or slides, it requires lube , if it > spins > it requires oil. KitchenAid representative said this re oil: That they use grease, not oil; but with time, the oil separates from the grease. This problem is getting resolved with a $26.25 s&h & $100 repair for an armature replacement, replacing the slide mechanism (free) and grease gaskets. I was offered another refurbished unit as a replacement, but my husband wanted this one fixed. I wanted to have this one fixed in order to use my pasta rollers for ravioli/lasagna. Dee |
