Default Jennair propane cooktop slow

I have a jennair propane cooktop. When I bought it I was sold a top
that was said to produce heat more efficiently with propane. I find
that it takes forever to boil water without the blower on. I used a
cheap gas stove for years and found it quick to heat. I thought it was
just me till I was talking to a saleslady at the Brick. She said her's
was slow too. She had the opportunity to voice this during an
inservice at Matag. She was told that it was not installed correctly.
My machine was installed by a friend moonlighting from his propane
company. He is very highly trained. We did change the orifices from
natural gas to propane. I am wondering if the orifices are badly
designed. The other thing that I noticed was that there is very little
ajustment in the knob. Medium seems to be the same as high then low is
low with very little graduation to medium.
Thanks,
John Paul

Jenn-Air is crap - I have one. I don't understand your comment about the
blower. The valve on my natural gas works the same way. There is HI, and
if you turn it about 3/4 of the way, it goes to a medium low setting. You
have to turn it to the stop before it goes to low.

Yeah, they used to be good in the '70's but have gone to hell in
recent years. Sad.

Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake
when you make it again.

What I ment about the blower was that it took a long time to heat
water even with the blower or vent turned off. With it turned on it
takes even longer.
I am still hoping there is a solution to this problem. Like custom
orifices.
I am puzzled as to why there is so little range of adjustment between
high and medium in the burners. The woman at the Brick noticed the
same with natural gas, so what did the engineers at Jennair miss. I
have the thing now and can't just turf it. I am wondering if it is
getting enough oxygen for combustion?
Thanks,
John Paul
