If you have access to meats that are not overloaded with water, as most supermarket meats are, you might have a chance. For any "normal" grocery store meats, there is enough water to turn a 1500 watt fryer into a boiler if you cook more than one serving. If you've got an outdoor area, a high-output propane stove will work much, much better and keep a huge mess out of the house. I use a "big 60" utility stove from BigJohn Grills, http://www.bigjohngrills.com/60I.html I happen to use a 17" Lodge cast iron skillet (with a hoist!) but a much less expensive setup can be cobbled together using a turkey fryer and an inexpensive wok or frying pan. Good luck, bob prohaska ps, avoid non-stick, use iron, season carefully and use lots of oil! |
