Default Opa-Opa Brewing Company - Red Rock Ale

Does it seem like more and more brewpubs are getting into bottling
their beer? From building an extension onto the existing brewpub for a
bottling line, a simple pressure filler in the corner of the brewery,
perhaps hand bottled conditioned ales or simply contracting the beer
out to another brewery. Off premise sales is a viable option for most
brewpubs.

Opa-Opa Steakhouse & Brewery, A little known brewpub in Southampton,
MA uses a contract brewer for their Red Rock Ale. (Contract brewed by
Mendocino Brewing Company)

The head clears out pretty quick to only leave a thin bubbly ring of
lace. Tawny color, clear but more orange than red. Sweet toasted malt
aroma with biscuity and cracker undertones, hint of citric minty hops
in the nose. Smooth and crisp with a medium body. Layers of caramel
and toasted grain unfold from the malt as this beer warms up a little.
Hops stay modest but enough bitterness is present with a flowery
citric flavor. Biscuity malt middle with a hint of grassiness. Mild
fruitiness with a faint nutty yeast. Finishes off with a long drawn
out clean toasted grain and sits semi-sweet on the palate.

Very well balanced with complexities in the malt that don't deter this
beer from being any less drinkable. Its certainly worth a try.
