Barbecue (alt.food.barbecue) Discuss barbecue and grilling--southern style "low and slow" smoking of ribs, shoulders and briskets, as well as direct heat grilling of everything from burgers to salmon to vegetables.

Another portion of pathos from the one man circular circus? Where do you
get them? All raw meat headed to the smokers is "Q wannabe". The trouble
is that inane jokers like yourself and Buggsie Boy want to treat everybody
new who wants to carry that meat like raw meat for the grinders of your
pathetic silly sausage ego filling. You two are more like the filler for
manure bags than decent sausages. You two are all clash, and not
particularly good at that, and absolutely no class.

You're another. I've been here longer than you. The arseholes were still
arseholes back then too.

My thanks for the invite Dave, but the 3000 miles is kind of daunting.

Since you have little capability to approach things with humour
and tolerance you will likely not be missed. You are welcome to the
barbeque info. That's what we do here. I came here around 2003. Didn't
know shit. Had a gasser like a WSM. Didn't know how to use it. Bought
an offset NBS. Now, thanks to this NG I can invite people to my house
and offer Grilled steaks or real BBQ and they will not be disappointed. I
am confident that Dave Bugg, TFM®, Big Jim or Ed Powloski whom I
haven't even met yet would happily scarf my food and delare it right up
there with their's. I sure don't want a contest with those guys. Any
given day could change the outcome. The guests would win every
time.

Now that's bullshit. You normally don't take part in these spats, but
you're welcome to join the good fellows in their circle jerk.

Who's the guest on this group? Why do the proprietors respond with such
hostility? They sure change their tunes when somebody directs some towards
them and their pals, eh? Carry on the circle jerk. You guys can sniff each
others' arses all you like, but don't be thinking you're either bit friendly
cause there's too many peeking in and moving on to bear that delusion out.

In case this catches you before the door......

This is a barbecue group.

Once again, barbecue has *NOTHING* to do with boiling water and/or
pressure cookers.

You build a fire, you put meat on it, you exercise fire control and
remove said meat when done.

You drink water at 2 in the morning when you wake up parched.

That's the *ONLY* equation water fits in.

Nicki, we got something similar to that here in the swamps and marshes of
North Flourdough. It is called a Crocagator. Works like a two-headed
alligator, but a little meaner

And Brick claims I'm humourless. I doubt anybody would pay full fee to
somebody who doesn't recognise and appreciate off-the-cuff flourish. You
seem the type to resent anybody else flourishing. They say that editors are
often like teachers, in that they think they know it all but can't put any
style to it.

"They" say a lot of stupid things, including that one. And I'm
guessing you know next to nothing about both editing and teaching.

Anybody can initiate a newgroup. It's obvious that you don't like this one.
Why
don't you just start your own? You carry on about the old curmudgeons here.
Well, we are the ones that developed the group. We are the ones that fought
to get alt.binaries.food accepted across the board after it fell into an
abyss
of major computer crash. This group does not subscribe to stovetop cooking.
rec.food.cooking is ready, willing and able to disguss pressure cooking, or
any other method of preparing food. Alt.food.barbecue is specifically geared
to the preparation of food by grilling or by slow cooking with smoke. We
lean toward slow cooking. Read the FAQ. We are not conducive to letting
someone come in and change the nature of "our" group. We have years
invested in developing personal relationships here. This is a friendly group
to those that want to learn about traditional BBQ. If that is not your
intent,
then you probably don't belong here.

Several of the poeple here have eaten Dave Bugg's 'Q'. He cooks comm-
ercially and makes a living at it. Big Jim and Ed Powlowski cook for the
masses and make a living at it. All of those mentioned specialize in BBQ.
I've even received some favorable comments on my 'Q'.

Frankly, I don't understand why you hang around a group that you don't
like. Perhaps you don't understand that many of the members of AFB
know each other personally. We are not distant entities insulated by
cyberspace because we actually have real telephone numbers and
addresses that we know about , but do not share with the world.

Bob In Ga is hosting his annual bash this weekend. I doubt that you
are invited. You probably missed Big Jim's annual New Years bash
as well. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't been formally invited to
Bob
and Ginger's bash either. But, I will bet that if I show up uninvited, I
will not be thrown out.

Yes this is usenet. But all of your ranting is not going to change what
'we' do here. Frankly, we don't give a **** what you think. We do what
we do. And we'll keep doing it.

Jeezus, how am I going to get down of this soapbox?

Then you'd be wrong on both counts. By my count here, you're wrong more
often than not. You're usually wrong and without much hint of style either.
Pedantic would be the word which well describes your efforts. KSW, word
technician because he hasn't the craft. You're much like those who think
they're smart but are merely sly. In fact, that description is apt.

I've learned much from listening.

Congrats. You're still very rude and obnoxious on a public forum.

This group does not subscribe to stovetop cooking.

Has nothing to do with the way newbies are often treated.

I've learned a great deal and watched others driven from here for trying.

So what. I've worked for some of the biggest Canadian caterers and own my
own place.

Yes, you don't even share this space. Do you really expect the wingnuts to
operate with impunity? Do you really expect the world not to respond to the
ignorance displayed here?

Yadah, everybody has friends. How can you people be so ****ing rude to
people perpetually?

Good luck with that.

I don't know. You guys always believe you have the high ground, but
basically your positions are indefensible. Most of you are pretty good, but
you band together when somebody challenges your village idiots.

Not me. As far as I'm concerned, people can just keep on challenging
you.
