Default Portable Gas Stove to BBQ Conversion

I just purchased one of these single burner stoves (
http://www.cateringequipmentworld.co...egasstove.html
) for tailgating and would like to use it as a grill for thinks like
skewers.

This youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q0JfdP36kI) shows a
Japanese Robata grill powered by the same canister and pretty much in the
same design. Anyone have an idea on what could be done to modify mine or
frankenstein some parts from a small grill instead of having 2 devices?

Thanks!

I don't know why your bent on doing that. The other grill has much
different flame dispersion much like most of the other portable grills on the market.
Something large that would sit on top might work.

It would work fine on my grill,

That's the exact same desire that I've had for a couple of years already. I
have a nice Farberware electric grill, but alas it doesn't tailgate well.
That
grill shown in your youtube link is exactly what I want. A couple of hours
searching produced numerous charcoal shichirin, but zero gas fired
yakitori grills. It stands to reason that somebody made the grill shown
in that video. So, how to find the source?

I noticed the skewers ar flat so they don't rotate, and also fit into the notches.
Try to find some flat ones.

Maybe the dog knows.

Search Amazon/kabob rack. Maybe that will give you some ideas.

Thank you very much!

I would like to be able to drop something on top of my grill which would
allow the heat to disperse across some channels instead of an entirely
different unit (if possible).

Contacted the distributor via tootoo and hope to hear back regarding a
source that sells single units down their distribution channel.

Maybe folks that have access to a Japanese-goods store may have better luck.
Looking around our Little Saigon, no luck for me.
