Barbecue (alt.food.barbecue) Discuss barbecue and grilling--southern style "low and slow" smoking of ribs, shoulders and briskets, as well as direct heat grilling of everything from burgers to salmon to vegetables.

Default Oxford NC Q joints?

Will be in the RDU area (Oxford, specifically) over the holidays. Any Q
joints not to be missed? Thanks and have a happy holiday.

There are quite of few of them, but I've posted a list of my personal
favorites at http://www.carolinasauce.com/phpBB2/...ic.php?p=35#35. RDU
is an interesting region because it's almost right on the dividing line
between Eastern NC and Western NC Q.

In my opinon, Old NC Barbeque in North Durham and Don Murray's in Raleigh
are worth missing. But I tend to be biased towards the western style.

Enjoy, and please report back!

I posted a response to this, but my news server seems to have messed up.
Anyway, here's a link to my favorite RDU BBQ joints:
http://www.carolinasauce.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=23

Worth missing: Ole NC BBQ in North Durham, and Don Murray's in Raleigh.
There's a place at the north end of Hillsborough (the town) that's so-so as
well.

All of these get talked about in triangle.dining quite a bit.:
