Yup - that's what Kath was doing for a while but got sick of it.

The sprouter unit we have looks better inside than the first one I linked
to - it doesn't have a simple grill bottom of each tier - it has grooves
right across that hold just a smidgen of water as it drains from layer to
layer - that seems to be good for the seeds to sprout quickly.
