I have a Braun that I've used for spices for years. I buy as many
spices as I can in who form, so I frequently use the grinder. I've not
used it for anything else, however. Whole cloves, allspice berries,
broken cinnamon sticks, blades of mace, and all kinds of peppercorns can
be reduced to as fine a powder as you want.

I also find it great for making spice blends like chili powder and curry
powder. It makes fine work of dried peppers if broken in smaller pieces
first.

I would hesitate to grind whole nutmegs in it, however, since they are
so large and so hard. I have a nutmeg grinder for those.

Do remember to not put anything moist in it. Those grinders aren't
meant for moisture and will get gummy.
