I believe that the number has been dropping in recent years due to the
number of couples that choose not to marry before starting a family.
Their separations would not register on the divorce statistics. Some
Christian commentators apparently see this as a sign of the
strengthening of the family, but they fail to take into account the
true cause of the decline in numbers only.
