Do you mean without an adapter?

Operating a 110-volt appliance directly from 220-volt mains will
almost certainly fry it.

While not as severe a problem, operating *some* appliances designed
for 60 Hz mains on 50 Hz *can* result in excessive current being
drawn by the appliance with possible overheating.
