Brown rice sounds like a pretty goofy idea i.e., it was the stuff that hippies ate during the 60's. These days, even Asians eat the stuff. That's pretty amazing. I'd rather eat nothing.
Yesterday for breakfast, I had some fried eggplant, crispy glazed pork belly, and a ham, mushroom, and cheese omelette. Such an omelette has as much umami as any Japanese or Chinese dish.
