Dave, sometime in my mid-married life, Crystal Sugar had a contest to name an apple cake dessert
for which they published the recipe. I copied the recipe, calling it "No Name Apple Cake." I don't know
that they ever chose a winner...it uses diced apples and the cake seems to be a basic spice cake.
It is really, really good, and I usually make it in the fall. It gets dusted with powdered sugar when cool,
to finish it. I usually bake it in a jelly-roll pan, as I recall. (I haven't made it in a couple years.)
