I get requests for this whenever I ask 'what can I bring?' The
attribution for the recipe is obvious by the branding. Use whatever
brand you like.

Pecan Pie Surprise Bars

1 package Pillsbury Yellow Cake Mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 egg
1 cup chopped pecans
FILLING:
2/3 cup reserved cake mix
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups dark corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs

Grease bottom and sides of 13x9-inch baking pan. Reserve 2/3 cup dry
cake mix for filling. In large mixing bowl, combine remaining dry
cake mix, butter and 1 egg; mix until crumbly. Press in prepared pan.
Bake at 350F for 15 to 20 minutes until light golden brown. Meanwhile,
prepare filling. Pour filling over partially baked crust; sprinkle
with pecans. Return to oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until filling
is set. Cool; cut into 36 bars. FILLING: In large mixer bowl,
combine all ingredients; beat at medium speed 1 to 2 minutes. High
Altitude - 5200 feet: Decrease brown sugar by 1 tablespoon. Bake at
375F as directed above.
