The drawer DW looks like it would be practical for doing small loads,
but I've not heard much good about them.

All the higher efficiency DW have a long cycle. We bought a new KA
about a year ago. It has a 1 hour cycle, but the full cycle takes about
4 hours. That is usually not a problem for us as it is started in the
evening and won't be touched until the next day. Does a fantastic job on
the dishes though
