I typically put together a lot of stuff by eyeballing and in a dough,
the amount of liquid needed is not determined by weight or fluid oz but
by a variety of conditions that varies widely and you should mix to
consistency instead.

OTOH, weighing is a fun thing to do. We have a neat digital scale and I
use it to measure out 8 oz. amounts of coconut haupia mix because I have
no idea how one would measure out 1/6th of a 3 lb bag without a scale.
