OT Giving away stuff tomorrow!
This subject did come up in another thread. I threatened Angela and said
she must make at least a dent in her room. I have never ever been on her
case to clean it up figuring it was her space. And she really doesn't use
the room at all except I guess for storage. However I do expect some simple
things to be done. Like the shoes she is not wearing to be put in her
closet and in the shoe rack. And no food or drinks in the room. Exception
being a bottle or cup of water and only during the time when she is
physically cleaning it.
Well... It had gotten to the point where she couldn't find two shoes that
matched. Because of course she had not put them away. And it had reached
what I deemed hoard like proportions.
The first two things she brought out of the room were large pieces of
cardboard off of some exercise equipment I bought her years ago. Now I am
far from a neatnick but things like that just really get to me. In my mind,
trash and recycling should go in the appropriate bins and immediately. I
hate it when people just toss stuff like that aside to deal with it later.
And then they never seem to. Deal with it later that is.
She then started with the dresser and said pretty much everything in there
seemed to be from the third grade. Now we do go through the room about
yearly and clean out all of the too small clothes. But I haven't had to do
that much in the past few years because she has pretty much been the same
size. I do go through and urge her to get rid of anything she no longer
wants. In terms of clothes that is.
So... Instead of going to the movies like she wanted to do tomorrow, we are
going to Value Village to get rid of a lot of stuff. I just wish she had
done it sooner because some of that stuff could have become a possible
Christmas present. I suppose it's still possible. I don't know how fast
that stuff makes it to the shelf. She does have some pajama pants that I
got her last year. I suspect she will get rid of them. They look a little
like scrubs. I got them for her to wear to school on pajama days. She
doesn't normally wear pajamas but nightgowns and those were not allowed.
She will resume the cleaning after dinner which is... Now! Timer is going
off. Garlic chicken for her with a rice and vegetable medley. I buy it
pre-mixed. Dried veggies but still has to be cooked. Nice because it's
less carbs. I will be having the rice with some beans mixed in and a bit of
leftover taco meat from yesterday. Perhaps some salsa added if I have an
open jar. I might. Seems like I opened one the other day but now I can't
remember why.
