But no, if you have a country where everyone's allowed to have a gun,
then you'll have a country where all anyone talks about is guns. Even
if they don't shoot you, they'll be shooting their mouth off about
'em. A lot of time and money are spent arguing about guns and then
people get killed just the same. The guy who shot the congresswoman
had a legal gun, but that's never before happened in the country's
history. Crimes tend to be done committed with illegal guns. As for
big clips, Kennedy was killed with a single shot bolt action Italian
job. Lincoln with a derringer. Most of the shooters, like the Tucson
one, are left wingers to the degree that they're really doing it for
political reasons. (Can anybody say Jodie Foster?) Okla. City was the
only right winger, if memory serves. Will getting rid of K. Oberman do
the trick? Too soon to tell. But limiting inflammatory rhetoric sure
can't hurt. Repealing the 2nd amendment is another way to go. But then
the Sicilian problem and McMafia problems arise. Of course religion is
out of the question because everybody knows that religion is bad.
