Not if you are a good shopper. Nobody said it had to be new. I got my
first toaster oven from somebody via freecycle. It worked great,
though it wasn't as large I wanted. This summer, I found a really nice
one for $15. Sells new for $100. It's big enough to fit my casserole
dish and medium size pans. I can roast a turkey breast in it or cook
half a decent size pizza (I can't eat a whole one, so half is just
fine for me anyway. It works great in my kitchenette area. Heats up
super fast, and everything cooks perfectly. And my food stays hot
pretty well as I often have to wait a few minutes for it to cool down
a bit.

I then sold my old smaller toaster oven for $10. So, my upgrade to a
really nice toaster oven only cost me $5.
