In a universe where everybody is not all American and a yard wide? Where
barbecue is not what come to mind for a picnic? Or just try the 1960s!

I grew up in Maine. I never even tasted barbecue until I went to university
in the south. My mother would have made lobster sandwiches and hot oyster
stew for a tailgate, should she ever have considered such a frivolous thing.
