These "antique" recipes use molasses instead of barley malt... probably not what we'd call "beer" these days: http://www.pioneerthinking.com/cgi-b...0311-34026.txt http://www.canadahistory.com/section...pruce_beer.htm Bottom line is that there seems to be a whole lot of different recipes and ways to use them... but there seem to be a lot of ways to make it taste like PineSol too!
